Onboard Cabins / Reserved Seating

On the Pride of Rotterdam you'll find a range of cabins to suit all budgets. Standard cabins come as 2 or 4 berth with bunk bed and a choice of either inside or outside with sea view. Premier cabins are 2 or 5 berth and are available inside or outside with a sea view. All Club cabins have a sea view and are located in a quiet section of the ship. You'll enjoy more space and a range of extras including a tv, telephone, fresh fruit, plus tea and coffee making facilities in the cabin.

Cabins on the Pride of Rotterdam are en-suite with towels and bed linen provided.

Onboard Food and Drink

Whilst onboard, you have a choice of places to eat and drink, whatever your appetite - so you can enjoy a great coffee and a snack in the coffee shop or a wholesome cooked meal in one of the restaurants. Whether you choose the Four Seasons with its carvery and buffet-style dining, or the first class menu in Langan's Brasserie, you are guaranteed an excellent meal. After you've eaten, enjoy a pint, relax with a glass of wine or take in the breathtaking panoramic views from the Sky Lounge.

Onboard Shopping

There are bargains to be had in the onboard shopping areas with savings of up to 50% off UK high street prices. You’ll also find a great range of books including the top 20, magazines, newspapers, kids' activities and toys.

Additional Onboard Facilities

You can watch the latest films in one of the cinemas, catch the live cabaret show in the Sunset Show Lounge or try your luck in the casino.

There’s also a commission free bureau de change and an ATM machine with an E Top up facility.

Travelling with Children

For children there’s a variety of activities, including play areas and quieter spots for watching videos. During the summer holidays, you will find free children's entertainers onboard and specially trained staff, who are there to encourage a little creativity with some supervised painting or drawing, allowing parents to sit back and enjoy their own space. There’s all the latest and best in video game technology for the not so little.

Accessibility

The Pride of Rotterdam is accessible for passengers of limited mobility or in wheelchairs. Vehicle passengers who are mobility impaired will be located near to entrances on the car decks for ease of access to the lifts. Onboard all areas of the ship are fully accessible with lifts and specially adapted cabins with wider doorways.

My vehicle having broken down in Germany on the return trip, I was completely unable to get through to Direct Ferries or P&O to advise them that I would not be able to make the return journey and to ask for assistance in re-arranging it. Their phone lines were inaccessible and me email to P&O was not responded to. I found the process and the non-accessibility completely unaccaptable. This booking service did not alert me that I would not be able to buy a bus ticket to the ferry terminal in Rotterdam. Soo I was in Rotterdam unable to buy one. The ferry terminal is very far away. It also chargThe staff on the P&O ship were so impressively good with people. So helpful and flexible. So polite and attentive. However the Direct Ferries website t would have to buy through the ferry company

Despite P and O themselves stating the ferry was full, Direct Ferries were able to get us on a very full ferry crossing. As always, the ship was clean, the room was basic but adequate with an excellent shower. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was excellent.

Very efficient loading and service - sometimes too much ....staff everywhere, particularly in the dining room - sometimes the impression of being under observation, but typically Asian and as the staff is now 98% Asian , this is to be expected. THe food in the Kitchen was good but the warm food was not warm and the plates were cold. The curries were excellent. Very clean. Cabin very clean. No books for sale in the duty-free shops.

"Disappointing loading and unloading "

The loading and unloading on the return trip spoiled the experience. We arrived at check in at 5.30 and finally got on board at 8. We watched all other lanes load and the early people did not move which resulted in deck 7 and then had to wait until 9 pm before we could eat as no room in restaurant. Then found out on deck 7 there was a problem with unloading and took 2.5 hours to leave boat and port and late for work. Really poor

The service was excellent on board and I felt welcome from the minute I boarded. The entertainment was great catering for all ages and was an added benefit I wasn't expecting. The choice of food was great and to a good standard. Sleeping accomodation was comfortable and just what was needed. Very efficient in boarding and dembarking with motorhome, which I havent done before and was a little nervous but absolutely nothing to worry about. The only disapiontment was that the WiFi was not available but only becuase I was trying to watch the football. My Feedback: Excellent and would recommend to anybody.

The trip went without hitch. The staff we very helpful and friendly. I would definitely advise to take your own food, especially if anyone has special dietary needs( vegan choices very poor), also food quite expensive. Lots of entertainment and seemed great for kids. Next time won’t be doing bunk bedroom though as all over 50 found a bit of a pain getting in, more because if our mobility than size though.

Did the return trip between Hull-Rotterdam. On both legs it was excellent - comfortable, clean, and with wonderful service. Really lovely crew. I also had my dog with me and while he didn't love being locked away, the kennels were spotless and access was good.

The ferry crossing from Rotterdam to Hull was excellent -- highly recommended! Unlike getting from Rotterdam station to the port and back: There is only a shuttle bus for the 35km drive that seemingly needs to be booked in advance, which we (among others) weren't aware of. This left us and two English blokes (cheers to you!) having to share a superexpensive taxi (120 €) because we weren't given any seats on the bus. On the return we were told to be able to purchase the shuttle tickets on the ship, which was also written on the P&O website...The problem was: This was not possible and crew told us that this hasn't been possible for 2 years! This led to another very pricey taxi-trip. Two more people who HAD pre-booked the shuttle weren't even on the bus driver's list and were lucky to somehow get on the bus last minute...So PLEASE, P&O, do something about this!!!

No problems for experienced travellers. Better: Install a large board "MOTORCYCLES" 3m high above the corner of the car deck where Mcycles are placed. When entering the car deck at arrival for retrieving my mcycle I had problems to see the right direction. Busses, trucks and SUVs block the free sight (I am only 1,76m high.....). A banner would be fine.

"Be prepared"

Depends on what you are looking for from a ferry trip. Is it a means to an end or do you want it to be an enjoyable experience at the beginning and end to your trip. If it’s the former then fine, you get a clean bed in a tiny cabin and your own shower room and wc. You can get food and drink onboard and there is some entertainment. If you want an altogether more enjoyable time then please bear in mind that although you have your own cabin the noise and vibration from the engines will interrupt your sleep. There are two places to eat, The Brassiere and The Kitchen, we tried both. The Brassiere is much more expensive but the food doesn’t match the price difference. The steak was tough, chips just frozen ones reheated although my husbands chicken was nicer tbh. I chose the Bakewell tart and pastry was so hard I had to break it with my fingers. I may have been unlucky. The return journey we chose the buffet style Kitchen which was much better! Enjoyed the meal and desserts were delicious. If you are in a group take a pack of cards or a game to while away the evening, those who did looked like they were having far more fun than those listening to the entertainment. Will we go this route again? Probably but will try and compensate for the shortcomings with lessons learned…

After this recent trip I don't know if I will book through direct ferries again due to their incompetence, after the sailings stopped , although it was not their fault the ferries company didn't have our contact number so they could contact us to tell us to go to Amsterdam for a new crossing , I had to drive to the port to be told I had missed another crossing & had to pay for a crossing to get , very poor service from direct ferries

The whole ferry experience was poor. The shops now mostly sell booze, the buffet restaurant has become very limited compared to several years ago, and lifts do not always work. On arrival the lift to our car deck simply refused to work and nobody from the staff helped us! Also, the ship left more than an hour late.

"Well worth considering"

Only live 20 miles from Hull so felt like holiday started very quickly. On arrival at port, although not clear where to go/what to do, there were other cars to follow and checking covid passes/country locator forms and passports was quick and efficient, then straight on board. Only about 10 cars already on board to find we’d been upgraded to a spacious disabled room (from a v small standard bunk room) which I paid to upgrade on the return journey. Plenty of staff on board, all were polite and efficient. We hadn’t pre booked a meal but paid £22.50 pp to choose anything from their ample selection of starters, mains, puds, cheese, tea/coffee/water…a feast if that’s what you wanted! Duty free spirits good offers, not so good in perfumes but good selection. Bar on deck 8 was good but v loud when singer was on.. there was also a quiz held there too. Disabled room was fab and spacious. If available, it’s well worth the £15 upgrade. Not double bed but 2 singles with bunks above if required. Tea and coffee facilities, tv and large shower room with loo and sink, all very clean. Didn’t sleep that well as just a few rumbles, rocking and car alarms on occasion but comfortable and clean. There’s a wake up call an hour before docking. Journey is about 12 hours. Woke up quite refreshed. There’s breakfast available and there’s also a separate coffee bar too. (Starbucks I think) but didn’t have either. Overall, I wd definitely consider this again over diving 4 hours to channel tunnel which was more exp. We went to France and Rotterdam is only about 100km further.

My wife and I crossed from Rotterdam to Hull, and two weeks later from Hull to Rotterdam. We decided to upgrade to the premium cabin which is so much more comfortable than the standard bunk beds. The ferry had taken all necessary precautions against Covid-19, and we felt a lot safer that we would have been on transport by air. The staff are always friendly and helpful. To avoid crowding, we brought our own food and drink rather than using the catering facilities.

"A good option"

Our crossing (2 persons+car) costed about EUR 250 in a cabin with a window. It is more expensive than a flight for two but (a) you cannot take a car on the plane and (b) it is so much more relaxed than going through all the airport hassle. The cabin was very nice, I would compare it to a small 3+ star hotel room. The ferry is full of opportunities to have a good time. The (prepaid) breakfast could be better: both the variety and the way it was served were far from perfect, perhaps due to the COVID restrictions, so next time we will probably either pack our own breakfast or go to one of the a-la-carte places on board. The company was also kind enough to organise COVID testing (mandatory to enter Netherlands) in Hull port, at better price than in most places in the UK. Overall good impression, totally worth the money paid

"Good Route, good service"

This is a fabulous service if you want easy access to the UK Midlands, and not too expensive (dependent on the package you choose). Leave Rotterdam or Hull in the evening. I was able to relax, prepare for my meeting the next day, and have a reasonable night's sleep before arrival. Embarking and disembarking on both the outbound and return journeys is very quick and efficient. "Duty Free" shops are cost-effective when stocking up on your wine and spirits. NOTE: make sure you budget to spend a minimum additional GBP80 for COVID testing, and make sure you read the current requirements BOTH Nations. It was very handy (GBP36.00) to have the testing available at the P&O terminal in Hull for the return journey to Rotterdam. All in all, very satisfied with the whole experience.

Having travelled out via Zeebrugge I wanted to compare the Rotterdam experience. My reason was the hour it took the Zeebrugge ferry to get in/out of Hull port. The room was much better having 2 single beds rather than bunks. There was also a kettle with brew making kit. Car access is seperate from trucks and starightforward. I had to use the hull/ Rotterdam ferry on the 14/02/2020 to travel for work. I have been doing this journey on numerous occasions. However this time was the worst. The ship seemed to be full of heavy drinkers partying and when going to their rooms were inconsiderate making excessive noise. I was woken through out the evening the last being at 3.22 by my neighbour room which lasted until 6 am. I have a long drive 8 hrs and think it was very inconsiderate . Not happy at all.

"Ship that saved us "

After a very stressful day trying to navigate through Amsterdam to Rotterdam to make the ferry crossing. I made a phone call to explain the trains were cancelled and we would be delayed which was sorted very efficiently on the phone and I was made to believe that I could still make my ferry home. One at the port the ladies at the check in desk made great conversation about our travels and ensured we could finally get home (Aftwr DFDS had cancelled) they where very understanding of our position and accommodated is perfectly. We then got taken to the boat where we where put in a cabin which was lovely and clean. On the boat food and drink was very reasonable and entertainment was good, even if storms where trying to ruin our crossing. Overall a very very good experience and would happily travel again

The departure and arrival times were exactly as advertised (did we leave from Hull slightly early?). The four-berth cabin was a squeeze for three adults. The toilet & shower on the Pride of Rotterdam looked like they had been fairly cursorily cleaned - a deep clean is necessary. No soap in the dispenser, but even when it was replaced very speedily, it was difficult to get anything substantial out of it. As non-meat eaters, the options in the buffet restaurant were limited so we chose not to eat there. However, the staff were happy to let us in before it officially opened so we could make an informed decision. The food in the Brasserie restaurant was pretty good and you pay for the individual items on the menu, important if you want to eat lightly or you have diet restrictions. Coach transfer information to Amsterdam and Rotterdam on the P&O website needs to be far clearer, there's simply not enough of it. We went to Amsterdam first and came back through Rotterdam - the information on the website is that the pick-up is on Kruisplein, which is clearly wrong. After some time trying to find it unsuccessfully, the correct information turned out to be on the ticket stub. Stand HH in bus station next to rail station.

It was good to get a sleep, although cabins were small, they were sufficient for a sleep. Food in brasserie restaurant wS not hood 2 of us had the burger, I was up at 3am with skitters my dad thought he was going to throw up. Staff were all nice and helpful on the boat. I would take this boat again but bring a sandwich for myself. Oh and the coffee shop didn't have any food for sale that was within date other than crisps!!

We had a great experience on our return journey from Rotterdam. Especially enjoyed watching Charles in the sky lounge who is a fantastic piano player and should definately have been on the main stage as I wasn't particularly impressed with the band which were the main stage entertainment. He played amazing songs all with no music to read and is an asset to the brand P&O you must go watch him if he is playing on the boat when you go on your trip.

We had a smooth sailing but were expecting to be able to have a canteen-style evening meal on board. We had such a meal at lunchtime on our day crossing from Hook of Holland to Harwich. Unfortunately only buffet-style or 'fine' dining were available on the Hull-Rotterdam crossing, or a sandwich or pizza from the cafe. Our 4-berth inside cabin was plenty big enough for the three of us. If we had checked beforehand and knew that the lower bunks could also be stowed away, we would have brought our travel cot into the cabin. Our daughter enjoyed the children's entertainment and the play area.

Upgraded my cabin to one with a window - it was comfortable, clean and cozy. Lots of places to while away the time onboard, all staff were friendly and helpful and everywhere was clean. Buffet breakfast was excellent. The only thing to point out is it’s not ‘Hull to Rotterdam’ it’s Hull to Europoort, which is close to the Hook of Holland and a good 35km from Rotterdam.

"One incident spoiled return trip"

I had a glass of Grenache from the Sun Deck bar. There was a large deposit of debris at the bottom of my glass. I made a polite complaint but was told that I couldn’t have bought this in the Sun Deck bar!! The supervisor was challenging and making me out to be a liar in front of my friends and other passengers. I reported it to the Catering Manager who did nothing more than to write my name (Jones). "Business Trip"

The ferry was very comfortable and a stress free ways to travel. I parked up at Hull which was easy and travelled as a foot passenger. Having a meal on board and relaxing as I travelled for a business trip was great. The transfer by coach back from Rotterdam was the only unpleasant bit as the mini bus was packed and the air conditioning didn’t work. To make things worse there was rush hour traffic all the way and it was a long and very uncomfortable transfer. Otherwise all good.

Made a similar trip with DFDS a few months ago and in comparison the cabins were a bit smaller with no sofa and the buffet was not exactly extensive (chose cheapest accommodation on both trips). I would also advise travellers to bring ear plugs - was woken multiple times on Sunday morning by car alarms which I presume were set off by staff taking alcohol to cars, which was another bugbear - you couldn’t just buy alcohol and take it away - you either had to have it delivered to your car or pick it up the following morning.

The ship was very comfortable, offering a very good food and beverage service en route. Note, however, the prices are in English pounds and although they do accept Euro, it isn’t a favourable conversion rate, so my recommendation would be to have pounds available, if possible. The cabin was spotless, as was the linen/towels. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive and fresh, although at €32 for two, it was rather expensive. We found all the service staff and the P&O support staff, both on the ground and at the port, very courteous, efficient and helpful. We would use this service again.

We upgraded to a double room outbound and inbound trip. However on the outbound from hull to Rotterdam them room was clean however when we upgraded on our travels back from Rotterdam to hull the towels had hair all over them. The sheets and bedding also had hair all over them too. And the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned. We was extremely tired after our 2 week touring of Germany that we had no energy to go back to the receptionist to complain

We usually book via P&O but found the price with Direct Ferries cheaper. When we got to Hull port we were told we needed to bpok the coach transfers additionally at £28 which took it back to the original price that P&O quoted. Nowhere on the website did it say this so make sure you add on the coach transfers. No idea how this is done online though.

"The Trip from Hell"

This was the worst trip I have ever had on a P&O ferry. The nasty little youths who decided to jump up and down on the Sky Lounge floor whilst drink made sleep impossible. The constant trips past my door to go and have a smoke had all sorts of shouting/swearing going on until the small hours, mainly by young women. Signs asking to be quiet after 22.00 hrs made no difference. One loutish Irish lad was reminded by his co party that people were trying to sleep to which he replied " I could not give a FXXXXX". P&O should patrol the areas outside the cabins and stop loutish behaviour. We all pay the same, after all, shame on you P&O. The food I was then presented with in the main Restaurant was a greasy tasteless fish and chips, the peas were also tasteless. I was very disappointed and will not repeat the Restaurant experience ever again.

Smooth and easy process of passport control, room key/meal pass issue, boarding, parking on car-deck. Think we arrived in Hull around 17:30 and no queue at all. On return aimed to beat rush hour in 'Randstad' conglomeration and arrived just after 16:00, then boarded at 17:00. Small queue of around 15 cars ahead of us, no problem at all. Departure appeared ahead of scheduled time, arrival punctual, both ways. No hassle and though expensive at time of travel (school holidays) prefer this to drive/fly/ car hire+drive or train experience for same journey to/from north of Netherlands; much more relaxing if longer of course. Cabins are small but cosy, clean and tidy. Comfortable bunk beds and small but good quality bathroom with powerful shower. Meals (pre-booked) were fine; quick seat allocation, buffet style with plenty of choice for both evening meal and breakfast. No haute-cuisine but perfectly adequate and enjoyable as well as plentiful. Looking forward to using ferry again, although perhaps in cheaper season when possible.

We sailed on both ships, but must say that The Pride of Hull is definately the friendlier one!! Staff at the reception and buffet restaurant at the Pride of Rotterdam were a bit brash . The usual excellent service on Direct Ferries enables us to book the crossings we wanted and at a price we were happy to pay. with relevant correspondence when required. The journeys between Hull and Rotterdam and return were excellent too, the vessels are comfortable with friendly and efficient staff. We enjoyed the sundeck for pre-dinner drinks, The Brasserie for dinner and both were excellent. The entertainment was provided with great enthusiasm and was enjoyable. Cabins were clean and comfortable with simple but effective en-suite toilet and shower. Breakfast in The Kitchen is varied and good if a little pricey at £12 and everything we had was fresh, tasty and piping hot where appropriate. Well done overall, good service by Direct Ferries and by P&O.

On a 4 day trip we were fined £100 twice by the carpark!!! It was not very obvious that you had to pay in advance and we missde that part as we were in a hurry. This should posted as no.1 on the list of rules but it is buried deep down at no.12 and easily missable. Rogue carparks strike again, it only happens in rip off Britain. A disgrace and embarrassment to this country.

My wife took very ill in Germany and would not go into a Krankenhaus, there for I drove to Rotterdam with minutes to spare, the purser came to my motorhome to see if my wife was fit enough to travel, once established were put on board , were space had to be made for us as the ferry was full in the cargo deck. Once on board the purser accompanied us to the cabin via the cargo areas in the wheelchair, which was very difficult. Once in the cabin he asked anything they could help with just call reception. At 7 o'clock as we docked, another very helpful assistant was there to help us back to the cargo deck.

Bigger and slightly smarter than Pride of Hull (though we liked that too). The cabin felt a tiny bit more roomy and the bathroom was better - we appreciated an actual shower tray. Very convenient getting cabin keys at check-in and driving straight on to the ship (not sure if this is standard on this route or due to our arrival time - 18:30ish). Coffee shop brilliantly located just a few feet from the kids' play area, which was a big hit with our 3-year-old - the play area was quite small, though, so could get busy in the school hols. The best part of the experience was the really lovely staff, who were more visible and proactive than on Pride of Hull (greeting us on each deck; directing us straight away - v handy as it's such a big ship!) and especially friendly to our little boy. When we asked coffee shop staff for a cup of milk at bedtime they even let us have it for free. The only niggle is that it was more difficult to found our way around than on Pride of Hull - we got lost on the way back to our cabin a couple of times - and access to the outer decks is not obvious and more limited. But all in all another very positive experience and we would happily take this route again.

I regard the use of the word PREMIER as referring to the top grade of cabins. My wife and I always use the CLUB cabins on our travels to and from Hull, as these provide our demanded quality of accommodation. However, we found that booking PREMIER meant that we were allocated a lower grade (than CLUB) cabin in both directions of our recent crossings, which we found totally unacceptable. Fortunately we were able to upgrade (at expense) to CLUB cabins in both directions, something that we found to be an unnecessary and unwelcome chore in the process of boarding. Had a lovely experience on the ship travelling by bicycle from Hull to Rotterdam for the first time. On the way back to Hull we did think that bicycles should be announced on departing the ferry, as we were treated as traffic through immigration and had to stand behind lots of cars with their engines running, breathing in their fumes and getting cold as it was a long wait. We were told we weren't allowed to move past the traffic. In Rotterdam we were waved to the front in immigration as cyclists, which we found welcoming and recognised that bicycles are not just another car on the road.

"Like a mini-cruise"

Lots of people on the ship were enjoying a mini-cruise but for us it was means-to-an-end. We needed to get to Maastricht and the overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam seemed the best option. We're less than 2 hours from Hull and the price was within what we could afford. I'll be honest, I hate boats. I got sea-sick snorkelling in the Med. So, I wasn't looking forward to 12 hours and made sure I'd stocked up on seasickness tablets. I hadn't realised I also needed my party clothes! No, I didn't feel ill at all and slept really well. The entertainment was a bonus. On the way home, the ferry was filled with teenagers on school trips. Our cabin was noisy but the staff moved us without any fuss to a quieter area. An added bonus was when the kids entertained us with their singing and dancing along to the cabaret act. I'd definitely do it again - and bring my clubbing gear next time.

In the interests of economy I had bought with us a little picnic which was sufficient for our needs. Had a 4 berth cabin 1 double bed and pull down singles. Very comfortable beds and all suitable for adults. Surprisingly spacious, tv, wardrobe, desk. Modern shower room. All very clean and modern. All staff were very friendly. We pre-booked breakfast and was one of the first to arrive. Everything you would expect, help yourself style buffet. It was well managed but it did get busy. By the time we had eaten there were people waiting for a table, so get there early!

Had to wait some time before being allowed to drive onto the ship. There were no toilets while waiting. The ship was clean and departed and arrived on time. The cabin was clean and adequate. I only tried sandwiches and coffee and next morning a croissant with jam and a fruit juice - these were adequate but pricey. The ship does not have free wifi - you have to buy it.

We very much enjoyed our crossings with P and O. It was good to have time in port to have a leisurely dinner. We liked the selection of food on offer and the politeness of the staff. "HOLLAND 2017"

My wife and I took the overnight sailing from Hull to Rotterdam in November. What a fabulous time we had on the Pride of Rotterdam going and the Pride of Hull on our return. Being disabled it has its difficulties but the staff on both vessels were extremely helpful and very kind assisting me wherever I went. Our cabin was a premier cabin and was quite spacious, as boats go, the facilities were very good. We had an excellent evening meal and breakfast on both legs of the journey and the food was of a very high standard. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would personally like to thank all members of ships company on both sailings.

"A Life on the Ocean Wave!"

Always enjoy the long overnight crossings, we had a premier 2 berth cabin, very comfortable and clean. Would have been better with 2 pillows per berth, but I guess we could have asked for extra. Excellent temperature control in the cabin. Dining room seemed a little cramped compared to the Hull-Zeebrugge crossing, maybe a smaller ship, but quality and choice of food was excellent, although could have been a bit hotter.. Service in the restaurant first class as always. Although ship didn't depart until 830 pm, we were allowed on board with our motorhome as soon as we got there, which was before 5 pm. Unfortunately, our motorhome broke down within a mile of leaving the ship in Rotterdam and after calling our breakdown service, decided to return home. We managed to change our booking for a nominal fee and P&O were extremely helpful in helping us get the vehicle back on board to return on the same ship we had just come in on and again, in allowing us to be first of the ship back in Hull. Although a much more expensive and longer crossing than Dover to Calais, the long boring drive from the North of England is avoided and the ferry trip is very enjoyable part of the holiday.

We recently returned to the UK from a holiday in Austria and Germany and travelled on this ship. It was a great end to our holiday. The meal deal was excellent and the staff in the restaurant very attentive. The cabin was adequate to purpose. The entertainment in the show bar was very good. Would recommend this crossing and will use it again. Our only setback was that we missed the turn off to the ship - we do not think the sighnage was very good. It would be helpful if the sign mentioned P&O Ferries.

Returned via Olsztyn a beautiful city in Warmia, Poland, lastly stayed in Rheine in Westfalia.All these places and more are waiting to be discovered,you can only do it by ferry,and sat nav!

"Most restful start and finish to your holiday!"

For over 30 years we as a family have spent our holidays in France. The journey from Manchester to the south coast and vice versa for the ferry was always very stressful and lengthy.. Now we travel from Hull and oh, what a difference! The route is so easy to follow and the journey only takes 2 hours, far less stressful all round. The ships are very well equipped for all ages and we now pre book breakfast and evening meal taking even more hassle out of the journey. The food is always well cooked, varied and plenty and the staff are very helpful and considerate. We choose the standard 2 berth cabin which, although quite small is ideal for one nights sleep. We will always choose the Hull crossings from now on........no more exhausting trips down south!

On Arrival at hull, it could be clearer where to start queuing. instinct is to pull into the coach area and walk into reception. Could be beneficial to issue a time when you are allowed to arrive to start queuing via text message (I understand all journeys vary this is fair enough). I know it is 90 minutes prior as the latest to check in, but what is the earliest you can check in? Could do with A bit more information about what you are allowed and what you need to take to your room from your car. eg. how many bags are allowed, food, drinks, passports required? Not everyone knows how to disarm their car alarm. a bit of warning about this would be better before the journey so drivers can look into this at home instead of being rushed off the car deck. The value of the meals was fantastic. the staff in the kitchen are so polite. the coffee was really good quality. The standard of the entertainment was good. very good singers. kids loved it. When staying in cabin class, an explanation that the mini bar is included in price would have been good. The actual experience was fantastic. When we go again we will enjoy it more as we will be more organised. A bit more info for first time car travellers is needed I think. we travelled in the middle of a thunder storm. it was spectacular. the lightening was lighting up our room. the kids loved it. one of the kids asked if the lightening would hit us. I was really interested to find out more about what would happen in this scenario. what conductors are on board and what safety measures are in place for this. For example- we took towels to our rooms. but towels were provided. We know for next time. maybe we were just a bit dim! can't wait to go again, so you must be doing it well.

"Great experience"

Was very impressed with our trip. So much that we really looked forward to the end of our holiday to enjoy the return trip. My expectations were not high for the basic cabin for four but although compact it had everything needed for a night on board. The shower was great and the beds comfy. Staff on board were all helpful and a blocked toilet (our fault) was dealt with within half hour and an offer to change rooms if we had wanted to. Excellent experience hope to go again.

I travel this route with my family a few times a year and it is a relaxing, enjoyable and stress free way of making the crossing. I'd certainly recommend it. Just a couple of things from this last trip worth pointing out. Mattress was sort of U shaped and not very comfortable. Whats the replacement frequency? We bought dinner tickets in advance as always but, again as always, we were greeted with slight confusion by the staff because we prefer to pay the extra and eat in the brasserie. I wish you would make this clear both on the website and to your staff. One of them was actually quite rude to us about it. Why can't we buy a dinner ticket in advance for the brasserie? And I cut my hand on the shower head in the morning as it had a horrible sharp bit of plastic on it. Otherwise no complaints, we'll almost certainly sail again.

"Good Trip"

We live in York so taking this ferry is the most convenient way for us to reach the continent. The timings are very good (late evening departures and morning arrivals at reasonable hours). Both the getting on and off were easy and well organised; even though we were the last off coming and going, we were away within an hour of vehicles starting to leave the ferry. The voyage was comfortable. We aren't fans of nightlife, but there are were lots of public places to sit which are quiet, away from the music and dancing of the nightclub. Our cabin (an inexpensive inside one) was well appointed, clean and more than sufficient for an overnight. The bathroom was fine with a good shower and instant hot water. It can be complicated to find one's cabin, but there are helpful, friendly crew members to guide you.

This was our second trip using pride of Rotterdam. This time we travelled with our 1 year old son. The staff were very helpful from start to finish. Boarding was fast & easy. I requested a cabin close to the stairs etc for easier access with our son which was given for both journeys. The ship is very clean & tidy. We didn't use the restaurant facilities but having a Starbucks on board is helpful for a warm drink (or just to get the hot milk ready to Cool down for the babies bottle.) Our outward cabin was very comfortable & clean. A travel cot was provided on request from reception once on board. Would highly recommend

Generally happy with all facilities on board except entertainment. In sky lounge a guitar being played in one key whilst singer was in another and the main stage on deck 8 had the most wooden singer possible, with a backing band that looked really happy to be there (not). I would suggest that you replace them with the ones from my previous trip being the piano player in the sky lounge and the Madness tribute band on deck 8. Paying for internet on board is a rip off as when I travel to Ireland it is free

The food in the Brasserie is generally very good but the needs of vegetarians do not seem to be understood - dishes without meat or fish should be more substantial to give equivalent satisfaction. Also, the French fries should be more like homemade hand-cut chips and not like fast food offerings (which are OK in the buffet restaurant setting). Also, a little more time between the announcement for car drivers and disembarkation would be appreciated. Savvy drivers are in their cars before the announcement but others can have an uncomfortable rush.

We enjoyed the crossings very much, our grandsons thought it was a great adventure sleeping on a ship in bunk beds. The food selection was suitable for all, we particularly enjoyed the cold selection. Drinks in the bars were reasonably priced though the general feeling in most of them was rather dark. We did receive more courteous service on the Dutch boat, being greeted and directed to our cabin and a choice of child's pizza delivered to the table at dinner. A good time was had by all.

Very grateful to P&O for 2 reasons: 1. I arrived very late for the ferry due to technical reasons - about 1 hour after last boarding. Fortunately my sad face and the efforts of the check-in staff permitted me to just squeeze on board before the ship sailed. 2. I left my wedding ring in the cabin. Lost property were very helpful and the ring was returned within days. Slight downer - the fire sprinkler started dripping during the night keeping me awake and making a large puddle on the carpet.

"Fleas in kennels !!!"

I really enjoyed the cruise. The bed on the way back was sunken and uncomfortable, though and the bathroom could have been cleaner. But the WORST thing was that my dog was invaded by loads of fleas in the kennels and smelled bad too. I've had dogs for 20 odd years and none of them ever had fleas, so this was shocking and expensive to get rid off. I really do hope P&O ferries compensates me on that.

As we live in Lancashire, Hull was a less stressful alternative to driving to Folkstone. I must confess that I was a little apprehensive of travelling with P&O after travelling Dover Calais two years ago and will always use the tunnel in future. My fears were totally unfounded, the staff, the quality of food, cleanliness and prices on both outbound and return ferries were excellent leading me to ask is this a different company to the P&O that operates the Dover Calais crossing. I would recommend this crossing to anyone that wants to wake up refreshed on the continent or has had the misfortune of travelling P&O Dover Calais.

"Holland, Belgium and Germany"

We decided at short notice to travel from Hull to Rotterdam with our car and visit Antwerp, Amsterdam and Cologne, and take in the atmosphere before Christmas. We found the whole trip hassle free. The Ferry crossing was great our Premier cabin which was only a few pounds more than the standard was very clean and had everything we needed for an overnight crossing. We booked our hotels on the day as we were unsure if where and how long we were planning to stay in a particular place. We enjoyed the whole experience and will do it again. We found the experience of travelling in our own car so much more enjoyable than hiring at the airport etc. We plan to do this again and would definitely recommend the P&O service.

"nice crossing"

I had been driving for 12 hours and was desperate for a shower. However, the water was scortching and attempts to mix in cold water were frutless. There was no cold water at all, so even a cold shower was not possible. In the end I had to fill up the plastic dring beakers and pour them over myself to make a shower. I did not complain because it was bed time by then and I was with children. Other than this, the crossing was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. Instead of arriving as usual in Dover and driving north exhausted, I arrived in Hull in great form and had just an hour's drive to our destination. Wonderful.

during the period 10-16 oct i attempted to contact the above to make changes to my return journey to rotterdam . after trying to contact P&O and Direct Ferries agent for 6 days on the numbers provided with no one on the other end of the phone and the website also given bogus information which led to no direct customer service. i was left in a position where i had to book a new return journey which led to me having to pay almost double for a single return trip than i had for my orinigal return trip. the experience left a bitter taste as i felt p&O was only interested in taking my hard earned cash (booking journey),but when i had to contact them to make changes no one was interested and there fore no one was made aviable your loyal customers who required genuine assistance changing there traveling itinerary with your ferry business.

"getting there"

Thank you for taking so much care for our journey to the Netherlands, we have travelled with you in the past and have always found it an easy and enjoyable passage. This time though we were travelling with others and you made everything so easy, from booking to arriving at Hull to safely disembarking in Rotterdam. The return trip was just as stress free. Despite what we had on board with us, there literally was no hassle, we registered filled in the manifest, waited as asked to be loaded and arrived in our cabins with no problem. The meals on board have greatly improved too - the soup, was in my opinion as delicious as any restaurant - my fellow travellers had the hotdogs, one of whom wanted it plain and there was no fuss at all. We spent the evening in the bar, prices are competitive and service was A1

"The crew are an asset to your company"

The full story of our trip would probably take up too much space. But we were a cause of an incident on the return journey from Rotterdam to Hull. We arrived late, from there it went from bad to worse! I cannot speak highly enough of the section of crew we met, Duty Officer Marion Jackson, security Fernando, "traffic controller" Tony. Basically Tony asked a question and we answered honestly, the difficulty the crew had was following the rules/guidelines and satisfying our requirements. I understand there had been two awkward incidents involving animals, one an unfortunate dog that had died being left in a car, and one a person turning up with a van full of venomous snakes. We had four polystyrene boxes full of snakes., most were what we had taken to Germany and brought back. I can give a full description of all that happened to anyone interested but this section of crew should get an award for taking care of company business and in so doing - keeping customers satisfied. I believe there will be a review of what should happen in such circumstances, I can contribute a travellers requirements and preferences, and how the incident came about and some options for how to deal with the whole situation. "Great trip"

Hi, this was a great trip and a lovely boat but there are two things - the first is that it is ridiculously expensive and the lack of a kettle in the room or any drinking water is not good in terms of health and safety - dehydration etc. The second is that there were gangs of men/stag parties drinking heavily and behaving rowdily in the bars which is unpleasant and threatening for family travellers who do not wish their children to be exposed to that. Those groups should be segregated from the family areas of the ship.

"First time and pleasantly surprised"

A great experience really and actually felt like part of the holiday we were setting off on. I'd done the Dover - Calais crossing countless times before, but this was the first time on an overnight ferry and from Hull. On each leg we boarded early and arrived ahead of schedule. The cabin was clean, the facilities were great. The cinema, multiple bars (catering for different tastes) and even a cabaret act were really enjoyable and helped the time fly by before we chose to retire for the night. I slept like a log in both directions and would hardly have noticed I was on a ferry. It's made me rethink future crossings - next time, I think I'll favour this option (Manchester is home, so a long drive to Dover would be a bit of an effort) ... relax and let the holiday start a day earlier.

We were on our way from Denmark to England, so we had had a long drive before reaching the boat. Luckily, we could go on board as soon as we arrived at the port, and we enjoyed a very good pre-booked buffet meal before we even left the harbour. Everything was perfect. We arrived on time and, as we had chosen to wait with breakfast until we arrived in England, we didn't have to get up too early. Thank you for a pleasant trip. We will be back.

We had a very pleasant crossing from Hull to Rotterdam overnight. The cabins are simple but clean and adequate. Very good shower. Our meal in the brasserie was excellent. Excellent service from our waiter and surprisingly good food! The lobster was beautifully presented and very tasty. Good wine selection and reasonable price. A bit congested at arrival hall but it was Easter so probably to be expected.

The ferries were immaculately clean, cabin facilities were comfortable and clean. The bars and entertainments on the ships were excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. Bar and cafe prices were reasonable. We paid for the breakfast each way and it was good value for money with lots of choice. Guidance and directions on finding the correct dock for our return trip from Rotterdam should be better as TomTom couldn't find it and we were anxious that we wouldn't locate it in time for our sailing. We would definitely use P&O ferries and this crossing again.

Didn't use their catering so can't comment. We took the boat as the easiest way to get back from picking up son's luggage from Germany. Very relaxing way to end the trip. Bought a picnic, sat out on deck and enjoyed the boat pulling out of Rotterdam. Lots of space, beer surprisingly reasonably priced and well kept. Cabin small but spotless, and quiet, apart from the throbbing of the engines which is soothing after a bit. Bed surprisingly comfy, slept like a log. Woke refreshed as pulling into Hull. Lots of stuff to do, including cinema etc, but we didn't use it this trip. Overall, much more relaxing than hanging around airports and queuing to get through security barriers. Would do this again.

What a superb trip, quality from start to finish, topped with superb polite service. All staff were extremely helpful, nothing seemed to be a problem. Evening entertainment was also excellent, a really enjoyable night with a great mixture of music. Breakfast was good, but we missed the tasty Danish pastries, which did not appear to be available. a good score would be 9.5/10 (no Danish pastries)

Good organised Boarding, clean rooms, excellent all you can eat restaurant, food and choice is very good. Book this in advance may be cheaper as it was in excess of £60 for two adults and two children Careful when booking via comparison sites as even though we picked travelling with car, when transferred to their site with the Price it had changed to foot passengers only. This was not spotted until after we paid and had to pay extra to add the car afterwards. We have never travelled from hull to Rotterdam but found it to be a pleasant crossing with lots to keep the children entertained. We would use this crossing again

I hadn't known what to expect of this overnight ferry trip. I assumed it would be quite basic facilities etc as it is a ferry not a cruise. How wrong I was! Cabin with ensuite shower & toilet was v comfortable. Shower pressure was amazing. All communal areas were very clean and comfortable, restaurants shops & evening entertainment was excellent. I travelled to Holland weekend of the 10th April , with Mum & daughter & a car . Mum is quite lame & thought the time on the ship would be a struggle. Quite the opposite. I asked if we could park near the lifts - done. I asked if we could have a room near the lifts - done. I didn't have to ask in the restaurant - the restaurant staff noticed Mum's slowness straight away sat us near to the buffet & restaurant entrance at each meal without me asking. Directferries was cheaper than booking directly with P&O so we will definitely be doing this again. The Pride of Rotterdam is a lovely clean ferry, the cabins (basic, inside) were large enough for 2 adults and 2 children, with a shower and toilet in the room aswell, fantastic. We arrived at the ferry well before departure time but could board immediately regardless and that was a big plus. We were sat having a nice meal in the restaurant long before departure. Afterwards we went to our spacious cabin with equally spacious shower. The only downside was the terrible mattrass on the double bed; not too hard or soft, no, just a matrass with something that once were springs. It was just a hole now.

The entire experience from booking to stepping off the bus in Amsterdam was easy and fuss free. The food was good and plentiful. The cabin and ensuite great and staff very helpful at every turn. One tip if you are travelling with large luggage, don't take it to you cabin, leave it to travel separately, just have an overnight bag with you as floor space is limited.

It was a very crowded ferry, but everything went smoothly. Entering the dining hall went quick and, despite the crowds, the service was great. The only minus point is that the Tandoori Chicken consisted of mainly sauce and hardly any meat. Although, that could have been because of other guests who grabbed all the chicken and left the sauce for others... Dis/embarking went swiftly. I recently travelled to Hull from Rotterdam and, on the whole, found the trip to be very enjoyable with a variety of activities on board to keep most people happily entertained. The one major downside of this form of travel, however, is the length of time we have to wait to go through customs on the British side! This is the second time I have made this trip, and both times I have had to wait in a queue in my car for nearly an hour. The first time I could understand as it was busy and I was one of the later passengers boarding the ship in Rotterdam. The second time, my son and I arrived specifically early as we had to get to Manchester at a certain time, so we wanted to get off and away as quickly as possible. Somehow, a large number of cars (that had boarded after us) were shown off the boat before us, and we still had to wait about an hour to go through customs - extremely frustrating! One recommendation I would like to make to P&O: please give the port addresses on your confirmation e-mail so it is easily available to put in the cars' sat nav systems.

Both ships are what you can expect, people carriers with some shops and entertainment. Premier cabins are fine. An extra pillow would be desirable. We do not use the restaurants, as like anything on board food and drink wise is expensive, and the price does not reflect the quality. This applies from buffet food to restaurant. But bringing your hamper with food and a bottle of wine in the cabin is an excellent alternative for a fraction of on board prices. Take your own coffe/tea facilities, and your set to sail. Pride of Rotterdam seems to have better cleaning regime compare to Pride of Hull. Having used all available ferries to Holland, Hull-Rotterdam-Hull is the one I prefer.

In the washrooms of the cabin every time the detergent in the dispenser was all. The cabin ventilation in the 10207 blew unbearably strong, so it was uncomfortable and disturbed sleep. It certainly can not be avoided, that cheerful passengers sing loudly after significant alcohol consumption and noisy otherwise. The passengers, who have a long car ride or a working day before after disembarking the ferry also use and mainly a matter to be asleep at the port of destination. should be put in a designated quiet zone from 22.00 clock in which you also really quiet . This should then also from the Department can be guaranteed.

Despite being given an upgrade, we didn't sleep well during the outward journey because of a rattling noise. The rest of the crossing and the breakfast were perfect. Being able to board slightly early so that we didn't have to wait very long was also nice. This was on the Pride Of Hull. This was my first crossing on the Rotterdam to Hull route but I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall experience: the staff were helpful and polite and the cabin wasn't terrible either. As we used both the pride of Rotterdam and the pride of Hull I'd say the Rotterdam was quite a bit better in terms of decor and facilities, but especially when it came to meal time as it provided a better service and a better choice of food. Also, as I have an allergy to wheat... which often makes life difficult when travelling, I was very pleased to see that on the Rotterdam the meals were labelled and even warnings were present (sadly not the case on the Hull). Having done it I'd definitely recommend pre-booking your meal & breakfast if you intend to take them as you can save quite a bit over the on-board price too.

Wasn't quite sure what to expect having travelled from Poole to Santander a couple of weeks earlier on a fairly basic car ferry trip. This was completely different: Excellent buffet supper as soon as I had completed boarding. Good choice of movies to watch. No problem for my wife and I but our dog was not so happy. The policy onboard P&O ferries is that your dog must be put in the onboard kennel. We have used Stenaline, Harwich to Holland, several times and our dog has remained in our vehicle in a special travelling kennel without issue. Our dog is a pretty laid back Labrador but has certainly been stressed by this experience, the kennel is in a locked, darkened room for the duration of the voyage, as a result we will not use P&O again when travelling with a pet. Hope this helps other dog owners.

We enjoyed the trip from Kingston upon Hull to Rotterdam. Port information from web sit is most useful. So we found our way in Hull to St. George's Dock & Terminal 1. On board the cabin was a little smaller than the Premium 2 Berth expected. But it was adequate in all the essentials. Dining in the self service restaurant was a pleasure , better than on other ferries we've used. Leaving the ship at Rotterdam was easy & we quickly found the correct route south.

due to a traffic jam we arrived later at the feeder. What we had communicated via mobile phone in between via direct ferries the shipping company. When we were 39 minutes before the ferries confirmed deposition date (21:00 clock) and 9 minutes before the appointment at the dock, we could not get on board as the ferry 23 minutes earlier than planned (20:37 clock ) took off. We were after a 6-hour drive to the pier and we could still fifteen minutes to look at the ferry from the outside. For us, incomprehensible, since our last crossing in May, the ferry was waiting loud announcement to a straggler and then stabbed until around 21:30 with half an hour late in the lake. With additional costs, increased travel efforts and appointment rescheduling I could perceive my business appointments a day later still. Conclusion: The laying dates is unfortunately limited to be trusted .

We have travelled from Hull to Rotterdam on quite a few occasions. You cannot fault the experience, staff, friendliness, cleanliness etc. However, the price is definitely not worth the trip. We paid around £900 for a family of three with a vehcile. This has gone up in the last 2 years by around £350 which I find extortionate. There are no other ferry companies (as far as I know) that operate this particular crossing and I feel it is very overpriced. That said, there is nothing wrong with any of it other than that.

Booking on line is most straightforward. The website provides you with plenty of information and you are able to book the best deal for our needs without any problem. Getting onto the ferry is easy; there are no tickets for you to lose; everything is done using your vehicle registration as proof. I print off the page of booking confirmation, but you don't even really have to do that. At passport control, you are handed Boarding passes and an electronic room key. On board, crew are there at the head of every staircase and help you to find your way to your cabin. Cabins are small but adequate. The bedding looks as though it can't possibly be sufficient for your needs, but it is. You can control the temperature of your room and even if you are using an inside cabin (one without a porthole) the constant air movement removes any feeling of claustrophobia or anxiety. The en-suite is compact but adequate and the towels provided are enough. We always use "the Kitchen" for our evening meal as we leave Hull; the choice is always good and the staff are alert and helpful. The breakfast is always good too; it is a good idea to have a large one as most of us are then driving for many hours in Europe. The "Costa Coffee" outlet is great for getting yourself a good hot coffee "to go" just as you we disembark in Rotterdam. The shops carry the usual range of stuff and are useful for those last minute things - continental plug adaptors, Elastoplasts - plus the usual gift stuff. The Duty Free shop has plenty of perfume and there is a great range of alcohol. Disembarking is simple; plenty of warning is given for drivers to return to cars and the crew are swift and capable at getting all of us of the ship and driving in Europe. Before you know it, you are on your way back.... and that is a different story. The Dutch do not signpost Europoort UNTIL YOU ARE ON THE ROAD TO EUROPOORT. So take care and allow yourself lots of time. If you are using a GPS type in EUROPOORT and follow the directions. Typing in Rotterdam will only lead to tears! This is the Voice of Experience talking.....! Direct Ferries are not responsible for the signposting; everything Direct Ferries are responsible for, they do with great care and professionalism. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I found the service an efficient and relaxing alternative to flying. No flight delays and I arrived refreshed at the other side. The crossing was flat calm both ways, maybe if it had been stormy it would have been different. Definitely need to book the transfer coach to Amsterdam though. The boat itself was good & clean & the cabin was adequate (although clearly very small). One complaint, the prices for beer & food were expensive, but I had taken my own food so that was not a problem. I will take my own beer next time.

We arrived at the terminal at approx 6.00 PM and were able to check-in straight away. What a Bonus!! After a nice dinner on a great offer by P&O (Dinner & Breadkfast for £24 per aldults and £13 per child) we enjoyed the life show on board consuming some nice drinks (great offer again). The service during check-in and the whole trip was outstanding! The life entertainment was enjoyable although we didnt see the whole show. Went to bed pretty early. The breakfast was very good. The buffet for dinner and breadkfast is working very well with ampel choice. The only downside of the trip was the arrival in Hull or better the customs. The off boarding went like a dream but it took approx 45 mins to go through customs. All and All it was a ver good experience and I will take this route in the future. Thanks P&O

Even when approaching the port of Rotterdam there were problems, we had no information from which port leaves the ship, Internet expression had it, a happiness that someone was still to be reached by telephone in Germany. On the outward journey, the cabin was clean the return trip a disaster . During the first cabin hung the bathroom door on its hinges, they could not close. According to a complaint we will then have another car to get but, except for the beds, was not clean. In the bathroom the toothpaste remains stuck from its predecessor in the sink The cabin looked run down and very unkempt, a table lamp was missing, the other was completely wrong. We have already made some crossings by ferries (DFDS and other providers), but these ships were the worst. The operation on the return trip in the bar was very pushy, hardly that of a waiter was gone was the other again with us and the cocktail a disgrace. Price performance ratio was not right, but we did not want to annoy it was our last vacation day. We will be back next year to take the ferry to the North of England, hope it will be a little better because of the holiday for us already with the directions or crossing!

Dining in the a la carte restaurant is fine and guidance of cars well organised. Problem with cabin on 10th deck. Cigarette smell in cabin and on corridor. Resolved by being assigned a different cabin on deck 9. It appears that the cigarette smell on deck 10 is caused by airvents by the rear oustide deck where smoking is permitted and it seems to be a returning complaint. I believe this requires a proper solution.

I used the Hull-Rotterdam ferry to travel to Europe on an extended holiday trip. Booking the journey via Direct Ferries was easy and straightforward although the website does not allow you to pre-book breakfasts (I had to phone and do this later). The journey itself was efficient and comfortable, the P & O staff being courteous and helpful and the ship itself comfortable; we had a pleasant crossing despite Force 4 winds. The one disappointment was the breakfast. The English breakfast suffers from the usual problems of mass catering - food which has been cooked & kept hot for too long; the Continental breakfast was simply the worst I had in over 3 weeks. Very limited choice of bread or cheese, very cold bread which was no longer fresh, no unflavoured or unsweetened yoghurt, etc.

The boarding was very quick and simple - I do however know my way around the docks in Hull which is not always easy for the first time - freight and passenger signage is unclear and confusing. The ship, cabin, restaurant and bars were clean and comfortable with a polite and willing Philippino crew. The cabaret was good, everything was reasonably priced and I enjoyed the crossing. Dinner in the Brasserie Lounge was excellent with a good selection of wine. Absolutely no complaints and no adverse comments to make.

"Chaos at the breakfast buffet "

It was all very well organized, except for the lack of coffee machines at breakfast. Organizing a coffee, took a long time, so the tables were occupied too long and the following passengers, who were not at the opening already in the queue then did not have breakfast. For so many hungry passengers the buffet was not well organized. Coffee-machines was a disaster. Otherwise, the crossing was very good. I would book it anyway again, but organize myself with eating.

"Only one disappointment"

Everything was fine about our return journey on the Pride of Rotterdam except for one thing. Cabin was adequate and comfortable. Bathroom was good. We slept well. Our wake up call with tea and croissant was efficient and friendly as were all the staff we met. We enjoyed our meal and sitting in the bar watching the sunset and enjoyed the entertainment. The problem was, on arrival home, I realised I had left a pair of Birkenstock sandals on the floor under the bunk. I found great difficulty finding a number and contacting P&O. I was transferred twice to a faulty number and then to a number in Dover. Numbers on the website were not helpfull. Eventually I was put in touch with lost property/security in Hull. I was assured when lost property was returned to that office I would receive a call. After 3 days I telephoned again to be told, yes my details were recorded but nothing had been brought in. I therefore assumed I would hear no more. I was assured the sandals might still turn up. However, it is now 10 days since we left the ferry and I have heard nothing. I can only assume whoever cleaned cabin 10129 on Deck 10 fancied my size 38 Papillio sandals, of which I was very fond. I am very disappointed as the two journeys had been very successful in every other way.

It was a great start to our short spring break. Relaxed and calm. It was only a short drive to the port. Aboard at first we had a quiet drink and a snack and then slept well in our cabin. It had its own toilet and shower. We were well equipped, so was a great way for our journey to Shropshire to start.

"Changing of quality"

having used this service many times in the past I have always recommended the hull Rotterdam crossing as the best way to travel to Europe, not only for the quality of the service and entertainment but for the food which has always been second to none. unfortunately I was a passenger on the ferry which could not dock in hull because of the weather and tides, we spent 26 hours going back out to sea and coming back, the crew were exemplary and we were given a complimentary meal which made the experience a little more bearable, it seems that all this has gone by the wayside for on this last trip I was sadly quite disheartened or maybe brought down to earth with a bump for I found things had changed dramatically, firstly the cabin my wife and I where allocated was disgustingly dirty the toilet did not flush properly and there was excrement on the lid, it seemed as though the cabin had not been cleaned on turnaround, I reported this to reception who immediately got a member of staff to clean it but that should not have been necessary, and although the staff where first class I found this experience offputting, but I was in for an even bigger shock when I went for dinner, having paid for our meals beforehand when we reached the restaurant we were given a little piece of paper which stipulated that if we wanted steak or tuna and other items of food we would have to pay extra for them , and when we got to the carvery it was non existent no joints only slices of pork in a gravy and the usual veg, and the breakfast was just as bad only smoked bacon the sausages were not cooked and the only eggs were scrambled, needless to say I will not be having meals on board again, but the staff were good and the entertainment was exemplary.

"Sunday night sailing"

If you have to get from Rotterdam to Hull,any night of the week,P&O ferries is your only option. Don't expect toilets or the chance of a cup of coffee in a warm waiting room if you arrive early at the check in point. You won't find that until you've gone through and you wait to embark. This is a miserable,uninviting experience on a very cold day. The ship is clean, the food quite good and the warm, enclosed sun deck, with its own bar is a boon for smokers.Climbing stairs from deck 10 to 12 is enough to put you off smoking when the lift is out of order, as it was when I traveled. The in-board cabins are as inviting as the check in...functional and clean,but no TV or extra sofa as you get with Stena Line to Harwich. The staff were helpful. Sailing in a force 6-7 on a Sunday night in March is not advisable unless you can walk like Groucho Marx.

Used this service several times, living up North it is so much better driving for hours down South, especially when the Holidays over! "Fabulous Trip"

I had never been on a cruise never mind a mini cruise before however we went on 24th January, I would definetly recommend the Pride of Rotterdam. The pictures displayed on the web site are exactly what you get, The various restuarants catered for everyone we chose the Four Seasons the staff are all helpful, pleasant and polite, entertainment was great from the Sunset Show Lounge to the Sky Lounge on deck 12 with Donna serving drinks to Amy singing and playing on the piano everyones taste was catered for. We shall definately go again and try the Bruges trip, thanx for a wonderful mini cruise :)
