Loved every minute of my trip to holland and back and will be booking again next year. First off the punctuality of the staff to border control right down to staff on the boat was First class. The only thing I would complain about was the cost of the food at dinner time. Not so much the 40+ pounds per person that it costs but to charge over 3+ 20 pound to eat is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Had the breakfast tho and the variety is excellent. But sort the cost of the meals as for the 4 of us it would've cost over 150 pound.

Excellent Ferry Service from boarding to disembarking. Car on/off was fast, and efficient. Cabins, we're very clean and well fitted, catering facilities very good. Food was excellent. Ship facilities were great and staff very friendly, courteous and helpful. Best trip to date and found DFDS to be superior to the other companies who sail to the Netherlands

Newcastle Guide

The English city of Newcastle is located in the north east of England, with one of the largest seaports in the country. DFDS Seaways operates daily Amsterdam ferry routes to the Port of Newcastle, usually lasting around 15 hours which varies from season to season.

This vibrant city is full of history, with its centre containing more listed classical buildings than any other city in the UK, and has many interesting things to see and do including the elegant streets of Grainger Town, through to the modern Gateshead Millennium Bridge. The iconic bridge is a popular attraction owing to its unique architecture and tilting mechanism, while in contrast there is Whitley Bay: a popular seaside resort with a golden sandy beach and seafront promenade.

For lovers of history, Hadrian's Wall was built by the Romans in 110 AD which lies not too far away, but heading back to the city, there is the Gateshead Music Centre, which was recently redeveloped at a cost of more than £50 million.
